Theo Conroy (Kevin Bacon) is a successful middle-aged man married to a much younger woman, Susanna (Amanda Seyfried). Their marriage, however, is far from perfect. Desperate to make their relationship work, he takes his wife and their six-year-old daughter, Ella (Avery Essex), to a weekend getaway in the Welsh countryside. On arrival, they are amazed by the gorgeous house they’ve rented. However, someone seems to be lurking in the shadows, and the house has extra light switches, which seems odd to Theo. Somebody or something else exists in the house, and this sinister presence threatens Theo and his family. They are left a warning note: “You Should Have Left.” Soon, Theo’s grasp on reality begins to unravel as this malevolent force makes an effort to destroy their family.
