Justin (Jordan Gavaris) returns from living in Australia to reconnect with his biological daughter Billie (Madison Shamoun), whom he gave up for adoption when he was a teenager. Because her parents are heading out on a vacation for the entire summer, Justin plans to take Billie to the lake, where his family had a cottage. He has many fond memories of his childhood spent there and looks forward to revisiting. When they get to the lake, he’s incensed to discover his father left the family cottage to his manipulative stepsister, Maisy (Julia Stiles). With Billie’s help, he decides to get the cottage back, no matter what it takes.
