Based on DC’s famed Elseworlds comic book from 2003, Superman: Red Son takes place in an alternate reality in which the spaceship bearing a baby who is the last survivor of Krypton crash lands – not in rural Kansas, but in Stalinist Russia. The Soviet Union announces Superman (Jason Isaacs) as their newest asset. Newsreels show him doing incredible feats such as lifting army tanks, which causes fear in America. However, Superman announces he wants to save the world.
