In the 1960s, in the suburbs of Brussels, housewives and neighbors Céline and Alice develop a close friendship, helped by the fact that their two boys often play together. One day when Céline is at home, Alice sees her son falling out of a window, but is unable to do anything about it. The tragedy devastates the two families, but it especially destroys the relationship between the two women. The situation escalates when Alice’s stepmother suddenly dies of a heart attack, despite taking medication for a heart condition. This death arouses suspicion in Alice’s mind.
