When drifter Johnny is attacked and left for dead whilst trying to make his way home, his estranged parents Bambi and Freddie are forced to take responsibility for their son once again. Becoming aware of their own parenting shortcomings they resolve to do a better job this time. In an attempt to truly understand him they enlist help from Johnny’s eccentric former sweetheart Dotty, and in doing so start to learn some awkward truths about themselves.
