On Andrea’s birthday, her children gather in the family home in New Aquitaine to celebrate. But while preparations for lunch are going well, Claire, Andrea’s eldest daughter from a previous marriage, shows up without warning, after three years without any communication at all. The reunion is more or less warm. Emma, Claire’s teenage daughter, has no desire to reconnect with her unstable mother, who gave custody of her to her grandparents years earlier. During the meal, Claire informs her mother and stepfather of her intention to get her share of her late father’s inheritance, which Andréa and her second husband used to buy their house.
