In 1930s Texas during the Depression, Eugene Evans (Finn Cole) lives with his mother and his sister on their family farm, which is on the brink of foreclosure. One day he walks into their barn and finds notorious bank robber Allison Wells (Margot Robbie) hiding there. She’s injured and he immediately thinks about turning her in to collect the bounty on her head and save the family farm. However, he discovers that she’s far more than what the authorities claim her to be. When she asks him for help, he listens to her story and realizes he needs to help her, no matter what the authorities say.
