Troubled teen Will Hawkins (Kevin Quinn) has a run-in with the law that leaves him with an interesting dilemma. He can go to to juvenile detention, or attend a summer camp, which he only discovers on the way there, is a Christian camp called Camp Aweegaway. Not having much of a decision and with nowhere else to go, he chooses the camp. Never having been at camp before, he feels out of place at first. Although his impulse is to run away, he soon finds not only a friend, but a father figure. He also meets camp regular Avery (Bailee Madison), who awakens his heart. Finally, he finds a sense of belonging in the last place he expected to find it.
