Join MICHIYAYA Dance for their feature film 33TheyRooted, co-directed, filmed, and produced by Retrograde Studios. 33TheyRooted is MICHIYAYA’s first-ever dance film following six different stories of six different women, each rich in personal, sensory, and cultural experiences. These vignettes discover our queer identities, tap into our inner children, and confront our anxieties.The evening includes the screening of the film and a post-film discussion with the creators and dance artists. This premiere is in support of MICHIYAYA’s return to in-person, boundary-pushing, queer and femme-centric programming, including their Spring 2022 Season at Gibney.
